Tweezing Hair

It may be much familiar for the fairer sex. Of course, unwanted hair is not welcome by anyone. Hair removal is one of the most vital part of the beauty regime. There are various methods of hair removal. The technique varies depending upon the part of the body of which the hair is to be removed. One of the techniques we will be discussing over here is hair tweezing. Tweezing hair is the most commonest and the easiest way to remove unwanted hair.

What is Tweezing?

Tweezing is done for facial hair removal. Tweezing means to pluck with the help of tweezers. Tweezers are forceps with which the hair can be extracted, may be one at a time or few of them. Tweezing is mostly associated with the removal of the facial hair or the eyebrow. Care must be taken while tweezing hair. Removal of unwanted hair using this method can be relatively painful and if not done properly it may damage the skin as well, especially the hair follicles under the skin. It is better to tweeze a little than too much.

The tool required for tweezing hair are known as tweezers. They come in various shapes and sizes, and their shapes mostly determines their use. They come in pointed, slanted, square variants, you can choose if you want it for regular grip or wide grip. If you are not too sure how much to tweeze then just keep looking into the mirror to check if you are doing enough. It is always recommended while tweezing the eyebrows, to tweeze one brow first and then move to another, to maintain the symmetry. After the process of tweezing hair, regrowth can take almost 3-8 weeks.

Some Tips on Hair Tweezing

    * For a smooth tweezing experience, tweeze hair after a hot bath or a shower.
    * Disinfect the tweezers before and after every use. And also indulge in a habit of cleaning the tweezers after each use.
    * Purchase a good pair of tweezers for that smooth and easy hair tweezing experience.
    * To avoid pain, stretch the part of skin of which you want to remove the hair and grip the bottom of the hair towards the root with the tweezer. Pull in the direction of the hair growth.
    * You can apply some ice to the area you tweezed to minimize the pain.
    * Always tweeze the hair in the direction of the hair growth. Tweeze one hair at a time, if you cannot bear the pain.
    * Pull the hair in a smooth and slow fashion, as hurrying through it will only increase the pain.
    * Removal of nose hair with tweezers may lead to infection. So do not tweeze them, instead you can trim them.
    * Take good care of your tweezers. Avoid dropping them as it could damage the tip and also lead to improper alignment. It is always good to protect the tip with a cap.

There are electrical epilators too that are available in the market. But then these epilators are not to be used anywhere and everywhere. They are to be used in flat areas like the legs or hands. Tweezing hair in curved areas like the underarms should be avoided. These electrical devices can cost you anything between $30 to $150 depending upon the make and model. The generic tweezers cost anything between $3 to $50 and are easily available at drug stores. So I think it is economical, reliable and easy to use.

Tweezing hair can be painful at times, as there is a possibility of tweezing hair from moles. But then, if done skillfully, it can be a piece of cake. And skillfully does not mean to be an expert on it, but if you can take care of the points mentioned above then you're no less than an expert. Tweezing of hair is a temporary solution for removal of those unwanted hair. Permanent hair removal cost may not be fascinating for all. Still if you're looking for a permanent solution, then a visit to a beauty clinic is recommended. So the next time you want to tweeze hair, do remember all of this, and always remember to consult a professional in case of doubt. Until then, tweeze safe. Ciao!
